OneTweet: Automatically Remove Duplicate Tweets from Your Twitter Timeline
OneTweet is a Chrome add-on developed by giladamar that aims to prevent duplicate tweets from cluttering up your Twitter timeline. It recognizes tweets with the same content as ones you have already seen and hides them from view.
We all know how frustrating it can be when certain Twitter handles insist on posting the same tweet multiple times, sometimes even hours apart. OneTweet solves this issue by intelligently identifying tweets that are semantically the same, even if they have slight variations in wording or capitalization.
OneTweet operates in the background and only requires permissions to access Twitter pages. It does not store any of your data, ensuring your privacy is protected.
Currently, giladamar is actively working on adding more features to OneTweet. These include a configuration menu where users can customize settings such as activating or deactivating console logs, adding exceptions to the duplicate tweet rules, and choosing whether to block duplicate tweets from the same handle or from all tweets. Additionally, a convenient button for quick activation or deactivation of the extension will be added. The developer also plans to improve the recognition of slightly different tweets that have the same content, ensuring accurate blocking.
